Baby Update: Week 19

Magnificent Baby Girl Update

How far along: 19 Weeks 1 day

Sleep: Well, last week I was so excited about finding out that my sweet baby was a girl, I didn't sleep very well. Sadly, I am getting big enough that sleeping 1/2 on my stomach isn't comfortable much anymore.

Best Moment of the Week: Seeing how excited my sweetie got when he talked about wanting a little girl. Seeing how happy he was when we found out it WAS a girl. Getting to see my family get excited about hearing it was a girl.

Gender: OH MY! I have never been so wrong about something in my life. I just KNEW it was a boy. HAHA God knew better!

Craving: Can't recall any.

Movement: I know for sure that I felt her kick last night after we got home from our Gender Reveal Party. I have felt her today some too! It just makes me smile :)

What I Miss: My dad not being here to experience this with me. Not that he would be too thrilled about being a grandpa but it would be nice to have him to talk about it to. And even be picked on by him.

What I'm looking forward to: Holding my sweet little girl. Being able to kiss her and tell her how much she was prayed for and how much we love her.

I thought how odd it was to see this picture for week 19. The baby just looks so uncomfortable but the humor was that our little girl was just as balled up as this during the ultrasound. I decided she likes to snuggle like her momma.

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces (She was 10 ounces) and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

Thank you for your comments, I may not get around to letting you know how much they mean to me but they make my day!
