Christmas Diaper Bag

Diaper Bag I made for a friend at school. She picked out the fabric and loves it!! The best part is that it is a one of a kind.
Let me also mention that it is easier to make this the second time :)

I can do anything... cont.

The entire inside of the diaper bag is vinyl coated so it is completely waterproof and easy to clean. There are 3 pockets on one side and 2 pockets on the other side of the bag which would be perfect for diapers, bottles, and all the other goodies.

There is a key chain clip so you no longer have to dig for your keys.

I am going to make a matching diaper wipes case, changing pad, and two zipper pouches to go along with the bag.

If you are interested in buying one, the price is $75 with vinyl or $60 without. This includes all the accessories mentioned.

I can do anything....

Ok, my diaper bag is FINALLY done!!
Here are all the pictures.

Top view. I used a nice heavy duty zipper.

Side pocket. Travel wipes case fits in here nicely.

Back of the bag.

Other side of the bag.

Front of the bags. One pocket is stretchy the other is normal.

Upcoming Project

I have a few upcoming projects I can't wait to start. Unfortunately it may be a while. I have 10 scrub tops to embroider and then I can start on my "fun" projects.
Here we go!

1. Fabric Blocks or cubes: I found the foam I needed for 1/2 off this week and can start on that. Like these from sewmommasew.com

2. Bumper pads: I also got the filling for these 1/2 off. Beats paying $25! or $52 like I saw online. I am using Amy Butler's patterns on both 1 and 2.

3. Diaper Bag: I got the McCall's pattern for $1 this week. I also got 30% off my fabric for it. Then the wonderful lady at the store slipped me a 40% coupon for the interfacing I needed. I am using this pattern set from McCall's.

Can't wait to get started!!

Boppy Cover

Ok, so I was completely intimidated by making a boppy cover but I did it!! And this project even contains the first zipper I have ever sewn. Now the downside which turned out to be a good thing is that I sewed the zipper in backwards-as in the zipper pull is on the inside of the cover. I actually think I like it that way because the pull tab doesn't stick out.
There were a couple things that I did a little differently than the original directions. I sewed it together just using the straight stitch the first time and then I went back and did a different stitch that is like the stitches on the inside of a pair of jeans to reinforce my seam. I also clipped the inner circle seam to let it stretch easier as you put it around you.
So, not only is this my first zipper project it is also the first project I have used a pattern on in a long time. I am excited =)

Laptop Cases

These are the laptop cases I have made. The small turquoise one is an ipod case. I really love all the zebra ones!!

Kids apron!

This is an apron I made out of a dish towel. It was so easy. I used ribbon for the ties and a little bias tape on the bottom where I had a raw edge from cutting the apron to make the pockets.

Wednesday

Today I am trying to decide what I am going to use this blog for. I want to have a place to keep all my stuff together. I want to be able to talk about my bible study and also vent about my Challenge of being healthy. It is not an easy thing for me. I will try to figure out what I am doing soon.
