My Productive Saturday

I never get much done of Saturdays, so I had to post what all I got done today.
I have also decided, I am a better Fall
Cleaner than Spring. Maybe it's because I know I will be stuck in the house all winter with all the stuff/dirt. Who knows. I know, I will be told I am nesting, and whatever the cause- it needed it!
  • Cleaned/Vacuumed out the windows- It was super nice today with a breeze so I opened up the house and enjoyed it. Pre-pregnancy I would be cold, but I am loving it now!
  • Vacuumed the house- Sadly Idon't do this enough. I know it only takes me like 6 minutes to do the WHOLE house but I just am not a lover of the vacuum.
  • De-Cluttered the living room-it wasn't too bad but needed it.
  • Finished organizing my ribbon collection. Isn't that better than a bunch of spools of ribbon. These are not mine, but my camera is missing, so you get the idea. Mr. M thought I was CRAZY for taking the ribbon off a perfectly good spool and putting it on something else. This is where the idea, picture and instructions came from!
  • Cut out fabric for Sarah- She bought her first sewing machine and I am helping her make her first quilt. Since she spent a decent amount on the machine, buying all the accessories will have to wait a little while. I agreed to cut out the squares for her. This quilt will be adorable and the same pattern as Baby M's Beatrix Potter Quilt. We can't help how much we LOVE that pattern.
  • Unloaded the dishwasher
  • Folded laundry
  • Cleaned out old shampoo, conditioner, and soap from under the sink. I had cleaned out all of my drawers and baskets a couple weeks ago and finally finished doing the rest of the bathroom.
  • Cleaned the bathroom and all the nice things that entails. lol
  • Made Banana Bread with my 2 year old nephew- too cute hearing him repeat the names of the ingredients.
  • Babysat my niece and nephew (8months and 2 years)

Baby Update: Week 24

It may be a couple days late but that is ok. Fare warning, I may grip, whine and complain a little in this post.

How far along: 24 Weeks 2 days
Movement: Big moment this week! I got to feel her kick on the outside!! I think that beats just about everything!! I mean, I know I feel her kick "in" me all the time, but to feel her kick on the outside to...WOW! This is my first child/pregnancy so I still have the WOW factor A LOT!
What I miss: Not having to go to the restroom of EVERY establishment we go to. Or hunting for a restroom as soon as we enter a store. I got a funny look from a manager at our local grocery store. Their office first of all, is right next to the public bathrooms- EW! So, when I went in there TWICE, yes 2 times, while I was shopping I got a seriously weird look. But when a girls has to go to the bathroom, we will deal with weird looks. lol
What I'm looking forward to: Still excited about Daddy finally getting to "feel" her kick. We tried the other day but she stopped moving. Probably because Mr. M had me laughing so hard.
Stretch Marks: I usually don't have much to post on this one, so I leave it out, but NOT THIS TIME :( Sadly, I have about 3 new stretch marks. Two of them have formed this weird circle-ish shape next to my belly button. When I realized that they were indeed going to be full blown stretch marks, I rushed for the Bio-Oil and applied A LOT! And have since. I mean yes, I know they are just a couple stretch marks and it may seem vain. I do have several from over the years (I am no toothpick). But :( I really didn't want anymore. Mr. M thinks it is humorous that i got so worked up about them when he thought they were inevitable. Ok, I'm done whining.
Best moment of the week: Getting to feel her kick! Oh, I had my doctor's appointment this week too. I was told I was "low maintenance" but that he hoped I wasn't saving up. Mee too! I also found out I can take Zantac for my heartburn! YIPPEE I have horrible heartburn-all the time! So, YAY!

This week, she is the size of an ear of corn!

Magnificent Baby Update: 23 Weeks

How far along: 23 Weeks
Movement: She moves around more often and actually kicks for a few minutes straight instead of just every now and then. No one has felt her kick on the outside yet.
What I miss: My dad. I wish he were here so I could call and just talk to him. I hate that he is missing out on this experience with me. I am thankful that my daughter will have an amazing grandpa on her other side though. God knows how much it means to me to have an awesome Father-in-law.
What I'm looking forward to: Daddy Magnificent being able to see/feel his little girl kick.
Size: She is longer than 11 inches and weighs more than a pound. It amazes me that some people have their babies now. Praying she bakes for a while longer.
Best moment of the week: Listening to Mr. M talk about her growing and being excited to see her.

Baby Update: Week 22

Magnificent Baby Update

How far along:
22 weeks, 1 day
Cravings:
Fried Pickles!! Thank you Mr. M for taking me last Friday to Ed Walkers to get a yummy burger and some great pickles :)
Movement:
I love it still. She kicks at some of the best times and sometimes it even makes me laugh :)
Best Moment This Week:
Finishing Magnificent Baby's Quilt. Oh wow, I have had that fabric for TWO years!! It is crazy but God knew when we would be pregnant and since I can't buy some of the fabric anymore (they don't make it), I guess having it was a great thing!
What I'm looking forward to:
Taking pictures of a finished and beautiful nursery.
What I miss:
Being able to get out of bed in the morning without having to be strategic. As in, I can't just pop out of bed, I have to get to the edge of the bed, put my feet down and then push myself up. Yeah I know, you laugh but my bed is rather tall and if you haven't dealt with a growing person in you, I understand the giggles.

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

Ruffle Bottom Feature

This week while checking out some awesome blog linky parties, I found this wonderful site.

She has a great video tutorial on making ruffle bottom onesies like these:
See, I have wanted to make some for me and my little one and for my niece but (confession time) I have been intimidated by them. Well, not anymore. Courturier Mommy is letting me post her video here but make sure you go check out her site since she is doing a month long video series on sewing! Too much fun!
So, check out her video and let me know what you think. I will be making some soon and I will post pictures of them when I get done :)

Mr. Magnificent's Nemo Cake

My little sister's son turned two this last weekend. He is obsessed with "Memo" or Nemo as the rest of the world refers to. My sister asked Mr. Magnificent to strut his stuff and make the cake since he has always talked about wanting to do a "fancy cake." Well, here are the picture to show how awesome he is!

Please excuse the first few pictures, my nephew was a photographer (with my camera) the night before and got my lens dirty. So, when hubby was left to take pictures, he didn't realize just how blurry they were.
We did two layers of strawberry and one layer of chocolate.
These are the same pans that we used for our wedding cake. *swoon* Coming up on six years :)
After he covered the cake with fondant.
Here is a picture of my sister trying her hand at airbrushing the cake with food grade paint.
The hubby refused to be in any pictures, but I managed to get his fingers.
This is what I came home to find after he made some of the decorations. And yes, my table is BLUE! But, with a little help from my Clorox wipes, all is well.

Now for the FINAL PRODUCT....

I couldn't be more proud of him!

Magnificent Baby Beatrix Potter Quilt

After falling in love with this very fabric last summer, I knew my nursery theme would be Beatrix Potter. I had bought a kit from my local fabric store to make an adorable quilt. However, it was a little too complicated for my pregnancy brain. So, I give you the extra adorable alternative that I just LOVE!!
After playing with Picasa, I made my first collage... If you click on it it will go to a new screen where it is bigger. I absolutely love the scalloped edges! This quilt was soo much easier than I thought it would be! The character print is VERY special since they don't make it anymore. I tried to get some more to use on the bumper pads, no luck :( But love it so much here!

This is another HUGE check off of my To Do List! What should I accomplish next?

Posting here and you should too if you have something you made this week!
I also linked up with Sew & Tell and I am very excited to see what everyone has done since I know how accomplished I feel for finishing this one!

Baby Update: Week 21

Magnificent Baby Girl Update

How far along: 21 weeks
Best moment of the week: Going through my sister's daughters clothes and bringing home clothes for Baby M. Oh and the dresser/changing table too! I *heart* my sister and getting to spend time with her!
Second Best: Shopping for the most adorable scrapbook supplies so my bestie can make Baby M a scrapbook!!
Sleep: Pretty much the same except my allergies has been pretty bad.
Movement: *swoon* I think my favorite thing is feeling her move! She does it more and more often and I can't get enough. I know later on when she is hurting me I will not feel this way so I am enjoying it.
Craving: After my chili cheese fries last week, I still could eat some more... and I still love mint chocolate chip ice cream.
What I'm looking forward to: Mr. Magnificent finishing our 1950 Chevy Pickup so I can move the nursery around and get it all set up. Oh and rearrange our bedroom to move the treadmill out of the nursery.
Daddy's Thoughts: He had the biggest smile when talking about getting to shave soon. -Backstory- He decided when we started trying, this time last year, that his way of "waiting" was that he wouldn't shave his facial hair until I GIVE BIRTH. There are some members of my family that can't stand his facial hair. To be honest, I like it!! He has very sensitive skin and when he is shaving his face just blisters (he won't use any lotion or anything afterwards, he doesn't like how it "feels"). So not shaving means he is more comfortable.

Baby M is.... the size of a carrot!

How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long —the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well.
