So, as a way to make our little announcement of boy or girl a family event, we decided to have a gender party, also known as an "It's a...." party, or as my sister-in-law said, a sex party. I think we'll stay with the first two.
Mr. M and I will go to the ultrasound appointment Thursday morning. I am going to have the ultrasound tech mark whether the baby is a boy or girl on a paper I make and then have her put the pictures in the envelope as well. That way I can't cheat. This is going to be SO hard. But, we will wait until we have dinner with almost our entire family (both sides). My sweet SIL is going to make pink and blue covered cake balls using this tutorial. Mr. M picked the menu of Buffalo, honey BBQ, and Taquilla Lime hot wings, homemade mac-n-cheese, a veggie and some sort of bread.
Mr. M and I are both very close to our families so we had to do something together rather than calling 50 people to let them know. So how many people will be attending? Well, on my side, I have 2 sisters, one has a fiance, my mom, grandma, aunt and cousin. Then the other side, Mr. M has a sister and a brother who both are married with 2 kids. My in-laws, both great grandma's and another aunt. So that is just a small total of about 22 people. Thank God-really- that my MIL loves to have company and she taught me to enjoy it as well. Our tiny little house just wouldn't hold that many people.
My father passed away two years ago in November and his side of the family which only consists of my Grandpa and a second cousin live in California. Since our Magnificent Baby will only have one grandpa, we thought it fitting to let my father-in-law be the one to tell us the results! I am also requiring everyone to vote whether they think the baby is a boy or a girl.
Here is the ballot.
They can write their name under their choice. The inside of the card.
For the ultrasound tech to mark.
So, PLEASE don't forget to vote. It is so fun for me to see what you all think!!
That sounds like so much fun! I can't wait to hear the results!
