I hope you have enjoyed Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3! Today I will be showing you Jorja's room! You should know that I am a "planner." I don't fly by the seat of my pants too well. I like to have a plan in advance.
So, when it came to redoing our spare room, I knew in the future it would be for our child. I also knew that I didn't want to repaint in a couple years either. I knew it would be a challenge to figure out a gender neutral nursery scheme. Thankfully I had some inspiration in a local fabric store. They had a Peter Rabbit/Beatrix Potter Quilt. I fell in love and Mr. M liked it as well. So, with that I picked a nice yellow for the walls. It is called Banana Split. Fun!
Before
After we took off the paneling there were layers of paper, sheet rock and more wallpaper!
Since this house was built in the 40's it is SOLID. How do you like the solid walls?
After
One of my favorite things in her room is the book wall. Mr. M & I made the shelves and now you can see all of her books on display!
I made all of Jorja's crib bedding. Here is her quilt.
I changed the bumper pads when she was about 4 months old. She would get her arm in between the bumper and crib so I made the bumpers fluffy and she doesn't have that problem again. The bumpers have little pictures of Beatrix Potter characters.
The crib skirt has scenes from the books.
I inherited this wardrobe from my father. It was his as a child and was used for me as well. After failing at trying to re-stain it, we painted it white.
Tomorrow we will have the finale with my kitchen remodel!!

Thread Catcher Pin Cushion
For a while now, I have wanted to make myself a cute pic cushion and thread catcher. Since I had some leftover fabric that matched my sewing machine cover, I went to work...
I had seen a few tutorials online but didn't use one specific one, I just went for it.
Helps to spruce up my paneled wall sewing/laundry room.
Practical and cute!!

New Organizers!
I would like to take a moment and tell you about my latest accomplishments!
3. I made a change purse to match my organizer!
4. I made homemade baby food for the first time! Jorja will be 6 months old next Friday and I had some squash from our garden so I went for it. I steamed the squash after peeling it and chopping it up. Then I put them in the blender and viola-puree! Next I put them in some silicone mini-muffin pans and ice cube trays in .5 or 1 ounce quantities. Froze them for a couple hours and transferred them to a zipper bag in the freezer!
5. My hubby made me some Plexiglas templates for the cash/coupon organizers so I don't have to measure each time=faster=more products! Not my accomplishment, but Mr. M gets credit!
So, if you love my organizers you can check out my Facebook page by clicking below and order yours today!
I would love it if you voted for your favorite fabric while you are there as well! I will be doing a giveaway soon and want to know what you would like for the fabric!
- I spent nearly 3 hours cleaning and organizing my sewing area. All of my fabric is now organized and arranged by color. I have a place for my templates, patterns and interfacing! I even cleaned off my sewing table so I am ready to start whipping out my latest projects.
- I figured out how to do an accordion fold for my cash/coupon organizers! It gives the wallets so much more room for whatever you decide to use them for. My sister (this one is hers) uses hers for her cash and her coupons since she doesn't coupon much.
